Unhappily Employed IV

How time flies thought Mark, it seemed just like yesterday when he landed the role as an Administrator at Shelly Holdings, it was a role he had longed for and landing it automatically validated his daily prayers to God.

His congratulatory messages from his Linkedln Connections wishing him a Happy Work Anniversary made him realize he had spent four years at Shelly doing some good work which made him quite happy.

Shelly Holdings treated every staff like family, that was the one thing that made him love working there, every day came with work challenges but the best days were Fridays when TGIF was made enjoyable with free drinks and nibbles provided by the company plus work ended at 3pm so you are free to start your weekend earlier.

His colleagues also made the work easier for him, as they always co-operated and worked together to win as a team. Of course, there were some days when work didn’t go as planned and the Boss wasn’t happy with the results, but the whole thing always took the fall for it.

Four years is a long time in a company without any promotion and Mark was beginning to feel like he was stagnant. The pay was good and the perks as well but he wanted a level up in the ranks.

Mark had tried having the conversation with his Supervisor especially since he always got amazing feedbacks during his appraisal yearly, the only thing he was advised to do was ensure he took his annual leave this year as he didn’t ever think it was necessary to go on holiday.

His Boss promised what was due to him would surely come, and told him to keep doing his best work at the company till then.

Mark feels stuck and unhappy, he wants a promotion at Shelly Holdings. What should Mark do?
